《老友记》口语养成： Let it go和Let it be的区别

Let it be. 和 Let it go. 有什麽不同？

It’s true that these two phrases have rather similar meanings, but if we look closer, we’ll see a few subtle differences. 确实，这两个片语的意思颇类似，但假如看仔细点，我们会发现一些微妙的差异。(以下翻译著重对话时的语感，未必字字对应。)

To let something or someone be is to leave that thing or person alone.

Let sth./sb. be

指「别管那个人／那件事」

Bill: Did you hear what that guy called me? I should go and beat him in the—

Bob: He’s not worth it, mate. In the words of the Beatles, let it be … Yeah, let it be.

Bill: You’re speaking words of wisdom, Bob—I’ll let it be.
